A History of Growth and Community Service

At Northwest Bank, we opened our first office at 3106 N. Rockton Avenue in Rockford on April 21, 1972. Leading the way were our five founders — Theodore Ingrassia, William Earnest, William McKeever, John Graves and Louis Gilbert — who had a vision of providing the Rockford area with community banking services that customers could depend on.

Our focus is on providing our customers with tailored solutions to their financial needs. Being the last truly local bank in Winnebago County gives us an advantage for local decision-making, personalized services, and community involvement.

Over the years, we have expanded, opening three additional locations: 125 Phelps Avenue in Rockford, 1100 Ralston Road in Machesney Park, and the final location at 4402 Peak Drive in Loves Park. Our Peak location is a 12,000 square-foot facility that houses full-service retail banking and business banking.

Northwest Bank has been part of Foresight Financial Group since 1989. This relationship provides valuable services while allowing us to maintain independence for our customers.
