Since opening our doors in 1972, Northwest Bank has been proud to serve the Rockford region with one simple mission — to provide dependable, community-focused banking built on relationships and trust. What began as a single branch on North Rockton Avenue has grown to multiple convenient locations across the area, each staffed by people who live and work in the communities we serve.
In 1989, Northwest Bank joined Foresight Financial Group, a locally owned organization bringing together community banks across northern Illinois that share a commitment to local values and long-term relationships. Other local banks within that partnership being German American State Bank, State Bank of Davis, State Bank of Freeport, Lena State Bank, and State Bank of Herscher.
A New Chapter: Northwest Bank, a Division of Foresight Bank
As of May 1, 2025, Northwest Bank proudly became a division of Foresight Bank, uniting our six long-standing community banks under one name and one charter — while maintaining our local leadership and commitment to the Rockford area.
Together, we now form the largest locally headquartered and managed bank in the region, combining decades of trusted service with the technology, efficiency, and strength of a unified organization.
